STILL TRYING TO GET BETTER SHOTS…
I am no expert at photography; I just enjoy taking photos – it really is as simple as that. For me, photography, like fishing, is a good excuse for spending time in some wonderful places. I see and enjoy far more than I ever manage to photograph. I count myself extremely fortunate to have spent my entire career working in music education but retirement (once you settle into it) does allow more time to spend on other things.
I was appointed as County Music Adviser for Lincolnshire in 2008 and Lynne and I moved to Sturton by Stow the following year. We really like it here! Although we enjoy visiting nature reserves in Norfolk and Suffolk when we get the chance, the majority of my photographs are taken locally and there is a wealth of wildlife right on our doorstep.
Enjoy the photos and thank you for looking.

Black and white photography is the ultimate challenge…

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”
